Agreement: By purchasing, downloading, or using SpreadViewer, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

We are Flat Rate Digital LLC ("Company," "we," "us," "our"). You can contact us at questions@spreadviewer.com. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the Company concerning your use of SpreadViewer.

1. Our Services

SpreadViewer is a single-file HTML application for laying out books for Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) print. Users paste or import manuscript text, select a trim size, and the app paginates content into a spread view. Output is an HTML file the user opens in Chrome or Edge and saves as a PDF for KDP upload.

SpreadViewer requires an internet connection only for font loading and license activation. No account creation is required. We make no representation that SpreadViewer output will be accepted by KDP or will meet all KDP formatting guidelines. Users are solely responsible for verifying their final files against current KDP specifications before uploading.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

Our intellectual property

We are the owner of all intellectual property rights in SpreadViewer, including all source code, design, layout, user interface, and functionality. These materials are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited license to use SpreadViewer strictly in accordance with these Terms. No intellectual property rights are transferred to you by virtue of your purchase.

Your content

You retain all intellectual property rights in the manuscript text, images, and other content you create or import using SpreadViewer. We do not claim ownership over your content. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to use any content you incorporate into your layouts.

3. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and upon receipt of payment, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to:

This license does not permit you to:

Each license key is for a single user. Sharing a license key constitutes a material breach of these Terms.

4. Payment Terms

SpreadViewer is available for a one-time purchase of $39.99 USD, processed through LemonSqueezy. By completing a purchase, you agree to LemonSqueezy's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy in addition to these Terms.

Upon successful payment, you will receive a license key by email. You must activate this key within SpreadViewer to unlock full export functionality. License keys are for a single user and remain valid indefinitely for the version purchased.

5. Refund Policy

Due to the digital nature of SpreadViewer, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds once a license key has been delivered and activated.

If you experience a technical issue that prevents SpreadViewer from functioning as described, please contact us at questions@spreadviewer.com before requesting a chargeback. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve any technical issues. Unresolved issues may be eligible for a refund at our sole discretion within 7 days of purchase.

6. User Representations

By using SpreadViewer, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms; you are not a minor in your jurisdiction; you will not use SpreadViewer for any illegal or unauthorized purpose; and you own or have the right to use all content you incorporate into your book layouts.

7. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

8. System Requirements

SpreadViewer is designed for and tested on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (desktop, version 90 or later). Other browsers — including Firefox, Safari, and mobile browsers — are not supported and may produce incorrect layouts, failed exports, or other errors. We make no warranties regarding SpreadViewer's performance in unsupported environments.

9. Data Storage & Risk of Data Loss

SpreadViewer is a client-side application. All project data — including manuscript text, layout configurations, uploaded images, and settings — is stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage and, when you save a project file, on your own file system. We do not store, back up, or have any access to your project data.

You acknowledge and accept the following risks inherent to local browser storage:

We strongly recommend saving your project as a file frequently and maintaining your own backups.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

SPREADVIEWER IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that files produced by SpreadViewer will meet KDP's requirements, be accepted by KDP, or produce commercially acceptable print results. Print color accuracy — particularly for color interiors — depends on KDP's printing process and is outside our control. We strongly recommend ordering a proof copy before any bulk print order.

11. Limitations of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF SPREADVIEWER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF CREATIVE WORK, OR LOSS OF PROFITS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Flat Rate Digital LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising out of your use of SpreadViewer, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

13. User Data & Privacy

SpreadViewer stores project data locally in your browser's localStorage and does not transmit your manuscript content or project files to any server. Your license key is stored in localStorage and transmitted to LemonSqueezy solely for license validation. SpreadViewer loads fonts from Google Fonts APIs. We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising within SpreadViewer. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

14. Miscellaneous

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Fairbanks, Alaska. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding SpreadViewer. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
